Calvin Gaskin is an award-winning independent filmmaker, director, editor, writer and visual storyteller born and raised in Oakland, California.

Over the years, Calvin has traveled the world with a camera, working across sports, culture, music, entertainment and community. From intimate portraits to large-scale productions, his work is driven by the same pursuit: creating images that feel honest, authentic, and human.

His work has been recognized with awards and presented in cultural institutions including the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art, Oakland Museum of California, the Black Panther Party Museum and the Esalen Institute, and created in collaboration with organizations like the World Enabled Foundation and Citi Pro Camps. His career has also taken him into rooms, communities, stadiums, streets, and landscapes around the world, each one adding another layer to the way he sees.

Today, Calvin works independently with brands, organizations, artists, athletes, and people with stories worth telling, bringing a cinematic eye, a collaborative spirit, and a distinctly human point of view to every project.
